3 THINGS TO DO DURING A MAJOR CRISIS
1. Stop Blaming Yourself! It is easy to blame yourself. We all make mistakes, but the crisis is often the result of other, cyclic or more global factors. Avoid people that blame you. Don’t place the blame on others. This does no good even if they are at fault. Don’t find fault, find solutions. Don’t fix the blame, fix the problem!
2. Develop a Positive Mental Attitude! Find ways that things can be done, instead of ways that things can’t be done. Your problems into solutions. Stand guard at the gate of your mind and challenge the negative thoughts that try to enter in. To keep positive mental attitudes ask yourself; what’s good about this? How can I use this for good? How can I take these lemons and make lemonade?
3. Stay Motivated! Don’t yield to the voice of depression. Don’t yield to self pity. People can be pretty merciless when you are going through a crisis. You sometimes feel like you are about to die and you hear them laughing and cracking jokes. Besides, they will not understand your pity on yourself. One of the best ways to handle self-pity is to take positive action! Stay motivated and move ahead.
Moses had a great opportunity for self pity when Pharaoh was behind him seeking to kill him and the congregation of Israel and the Red Sea was in front of him. He took positive action and in faith raised the rod and split the sea so that the people could go across.(Exodus 14)
